Currently reading – The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea, by Yukio Mishima, translated by John Nathan. In the long history of literature, there are many crazy writers. But Mishima (1925-1970) was special – after leading a failed attempt to overthrow Japan’s constitution in 1970, Mishima committed seppuku, or ritual suicide by self-disembowelment.
